
At Renewable Partners, we carried out an extensive sustainability project for property manager Meerdervoort, transforming 200 homes on Meerdervoort in The Hague. With our detailed advisory reports, we made Meerdervoort's portfolio more sustainable, increased its value, and prepared it for the future. The 200 homes on Meerdervoort, mainly characteristic buildings from the early 20th century, suffered from low energy performance and outdated installations. Property manager Meerdervoort wanted to make this portfolio more sustainable in order to comply with the new requirements of the Affordable Rent Act (July 2024), maximize rental value, and make the homes more attractive to tenants. At the same time, the investments had to remain profitable and contribute to the long-term value of the property.
Our analysis, conducted in accordance with NTA 8800 standards, showed that the homes lost a lot of heat due to poor insulation and inefficient ventilation systems. This formed the basis for our strategy to improve energy performance and future-proof the portfolio.
In close collaboration with property manager Meerdervoort, we developed a scalable sustainability plan with measures carefully tailored to the characteristics of the homes. We focused on solutions with a high impact on energy efficiency and living comfort, while optimizing costs with subsidies such as the Sustainable Energy Investment Subsidy (ISDE) and the Rental Property Sustainability Subsidy (SVOH).
